Hamilton Montana
Guided fly fishing trips create memories that last a lifetime: from fifty fish days on the Missouri, to hailstorms and moose blocking the river on the lower Big Hole, these are times to remember. Operated by veteran Montana fishing guides, Bitterroot River Guides are on the water year round pursuing our passion of fly fishing throughout the state and the seasons. From the Bitterroot Skwala hatch early spring in March through the high lush waters of May, all the way to the golden trickles of October and November, we guide our anglers into wild trout on the fly throughout Western Montana.
Each day’s float trip is planned individually between your party and your guides. From multi boat groups to our single anglers, we consider your fishing abilities, preferences of water type and how you like to fish, float and travel timing, and a myriad of other factors to nail down the best possible fishing experience we can provide you. On multi-day trips, we will choose a new section of river each day, or even travel to some of the other rivers within a tank of gas from Hamilton: each day is a brand new adventure.
Five and six weight rods are ideal for our Montana rivers, with weight forward floating lines and 9 foot leaders as our main setup. All our guides are packing high quality rods and reels for you to use, and we provide all the terminal tackle and flies at no extra charge. We will pick you up in the morning, or meet you at a convenient location, often a fishing access, and bring you back when the day is wrapped up. We serve healthy streamside lunches: from build you own sandwiches and salads to grilled pork chops or just good ol' hamburgers, you’ll be amazed at what we craft up on the riverbank. We look forward to hosting your Montana fly fishing adventure.
